About Hiskan
Hiskan is the language of Hiska [hiʃka], a country made up by me (but with a geographic location in the real world). It started as an analytic language in the Mekong River (close to IRL Vientiane) around 600 BCE. Around 200 CE, it adopted Chinese Hanzi as its main writing system. Today, it's a fusional language with a logography. Its dialects have a majority presence in the real-life counterparts of: Laos, Isan (in Thailand), North Vietnam (geographical; no relation to the communist side of the Vietnam war), and the Chinese provinces and SAR's of Guangxi, Guangdong, Hainan, Macau, and Hong Kong. Hiskan and its related languages were historically spoken, or have a minority presence today in: China's Yunnan province, the rest of Thailand, Cambodia, South Vietnam, and Myanmar.
