About Old Arlandian
Old Arlandian is an isolate language that was spoken in Arlandia during the Middle Ages. It is unknown where it exactly came from. It went extinct naturally by developing into the modern Arlandian languages: Mainland Arlandian and Northern Arlandian.
SCRIPT: alphabetic, one symbol for each voiced-unvoiced pair, as well as one for* and *. The script is written top-down, left-right.
WORD ORDER: VSO
ASPECT AND TENSE: Arlandian distinguishes a future and a non-future tense. Past is typically marked by using the perfective aspect with the non-future tense. In the future tense, the perfective aspect is used to indicate a singular action, and imperfective, a change of state. Aspect is marked by a postpositional particle, and tense by a prepositional particle.
MODE: interrogative only indicated by intonation. imperative marked by pro-drop.
VOWEL HARMONY: front-back dominant vowel harmony
CLASS: words divided into classes based on whether they end in Fricative, Nasal, or Vowel
