About Mila
The back-story is that a group of settlers were sent to a known about world to repair the communication systems (which were placed inside a pyramid on one of the islands). The settlers had a variety of skills and spoke various languages so they used a constructed language to communicate. After they'd arrived on the new world, though, they lost contact with the home planet. With no means to return they have now been on the world for a number of generations. The state of the language as given here is about 150 years on from when they first arrived, so there have been a couple of sound changes and irregularities have started to creep in.
This is designed as an experimental proto-language for a world which is similar to the earth and spoken by a people which are anatomically very similar to humans (although they themselves are not human) and so have the same capabilities of speech as those on the earth. The phonology has purposely been made simple as has the syllable structure so that it has room for manoeuvrability.
