About Puck's Argot
The Puck's Argot was a code language used by a band of criminals living in London during the late 19th century. It started out when their leader, now only known to us as Ar Puck, started replacing a few words in his language as a way of confusing men of the law when speaking to his associates. As more and more words were replaced, it turned into what most people would consider a different language. Someone who has any knowledge of linguistics will however quickly see that the "language" is but a code of English. The words have a number of source languages, but most are from Welsh, Irish, Latin and Greek.
