About Parenese
The Parenese conlang is part of a collaborative worldbuilding project/community from the online nationbuilding game NationStates. As part of the group in which I am active, I am responsible for the worldbuilding and lore of a specific region in our world, called the Parens, where the primary language is Parenese on its many dialects.
Parenese is a Slavic language, belonging to the fictional Pacific-Slavic linguistic family that is native to the fictional continent of Dreveshka. For the most part, I am basing Parenese on South-Slavic languages. Other than the Slavic roots, Parenese also features elements from Altaic languages derived from a neighboring fictional language family called Vodonic, which is linguistically and historically tied to languages such as Mongolian and Manchu.
Parenese is the official language of five fictional nations: Danlina, Parentell, Uribill, Telroi, and Vivtzem - who each use a different dialect of Parenese in official use (Northern, Low Central, Middle Central, Western, and Eastern Parenese respectively).
As of now, I will only use this site to host the primary literary dialect of Parenese, which is High Central-Parenese, and in terms of the spoken language, it is most similar to Middle Central-Parenese and Northern-Parenese.
