About Proto-Western Peninsula
This is a language of the world of The Peninsulae. The Western Peninsula languages are spoken by a variety of groups along the Western Seaway, across the Western Peninsula, and in the west of the Central Sea region. It is often simply referred to as the "Western" family. The modern members of this family are broken up into six groups: Dhaol-Kai, Chelktane, Druzta, Akairan, Berain, and Laharek. Of these languages, Druzta and Berain (which are spoken along the Western Seaway) are much more widespread and politically influential than the others.
Languages of the Western Peninsula family tend to lack verb agreement and case, use active alignment systems, and prefer VSO or SVO word orders, though all of these have exceptions. Many feature implosives and many feature tone, especially in the form of a pitch accent.
