About Squinan An indigenous language of the northeastern coast of the U.S. and part of Canada, Squinan is an extremely synthetic language isolate spoken by the Squina people. While it is not related to its more widely-known neighbors the Iroquoian and Algonquian language families, it is one of the most widely-spoken language isolates on the continent and shows no signs of going extinct in the near future.
