About Rokadong Rokadong is one of two languages spoken by the kanvas of the Quill Kingdom. The name "Rokadong" is a portmanteau of "rokalanren" (the name speakers use for themselves, meaning "people of six (stars)", as the number 6 is important to Rokalan, and thus Quillan broadly, culture) and "dong" (language).

[edit] [view] Puram Rokadong (Northern Coastal Rokadong)Puram Rokadong is found in the montane far-north of mainland Quillan. With more Sanényan influence than standard Pahang Rokadong, Puram Rokadong has more strict assibilation rules and trills more often than Pahang Rokadong. It also has a few more Sanényan loanwords.
[edit] [view] Kúshataketeláh Rokadong (Polar Rokadong)Found on the far-northern Whiteout Island, Polar Rokadong is known for having free variation in its realizations of /s z/, known as "tékuhasá" (literally "all S"). It's effectively a more conservative (less-altered) version of Pahang Rokadong.

Syllable Structure(C)(j)V(V)(C)+r, where C is a consonant, j is /j/, V is a vowel, and r is /ɾ/. V, sonorant coda C, and ɾ add 1 mora each.
Stress informationMost often, the penultimate syllable is accented. If the antepenultimate syllable has 2 or more morae, and the penultimate syllable does not, then the antepenultimate syllable is accented. If not, and the ultimate syllable ends in a glottal stop, it is accented.
OtherPitch accent falls on the first mora of stressed syllables in single-morpheme words. In Pahang Rokadong, this is a high tone on the accented mora, and a falling tone on the subsequent mora. Affixes are effectively nikjairi (unaccented). In compound words, only the primary morpheme is accented. In full and rhyming reduplicated words, both morphemes are accented.
