Ric background overview:
The Ric archipelago is made up of two large and three small islands. The northern island is mountainous and largely uninhabited except for a few select tribes. The southern island is more level and contains the majority of the population. The water between the islands is shallow and marshy, with tall grass giving the illusion of land in most places. The island soil contains an abundance of red clay and igneous rock, much like the Philippines.
The Ric people of each island are ethnically homogeneous. Typically, Ric people can be characterised by their light skin, monolid eyes, thick black to auburn hair, and short vertical horns at the corners of their forehead which curve back slightly (like a young ibex).
Ric cities are typically centered around large pyramids constructed out of adobe. Ric people have a strong sense of valor and honor, and never shy away from a fight. However, they also have an immense respect for the natural world and all living things. The only meats Ric people consume are birds and fish, which are fed to children until they reach puberty. From then on they maintain a strictly vegetarian diet, though allowing for the consumption of eggs and dairy.

[view] o Gal Toln (Mountain Speech)Spoken by the mountain tribes of the northern Ric island. Southerners consider it a lesser, broken form of Ric and look down on people who speak it. Speaking o Gal Toln on the southern island is considered ignorant and uneducated behavior.
