About Shikathi
Modern Shikathi is an a priori language spoken on an alien world inhabited by a technologically-advanced race. Ancient texts describe their ancestors' arrival to the world, brought by an alien being named Zh'kaar. Zh'kaar taught their ancestors language and technology. The world, people, and language were then named after Zh'kaar.
Zh'kaar disappeared for unknown reasons and the Shikathi people eventually developed into a space faring people. They began to explore the universe attempting to find Zh'kaar. In their search, the Shikathi people discovered Earth (about 10,000 years ago), and have been travelling here many times to study the progress of human evolution. Their arrival to Earth has not gone unnoticed and human culture has been irrevocably contaminated. Evidence of this contamination can be seen in many Terran languages that have assimilated words and roots that were originally of alien origin.

As Terran societies grew and evolved, many Terran languages began to influence Shikathi, a process that continues today. Due to this, coupled with with the prolonged isolation from the Shikathi homeworld, there is now a noticeable difference between Soranthi (the Shikathi spoken in the Sol system) and Shikathi Prime.
