About Proto-Lakelandic The mother of all Lakelandic languages.

Out of universe: This is the first of the various proto-languages of the language families I like to call "landic-languages". It was not my first conlang overall, but I wasn't very experienced with conlanging when I started to conjure it up, so to speak. My initial plan was to use, in a rather vague manner, elements of Uralic (mainly Saami, Samoyedic and Baltic Finnic languages), Ancient Greek and some words postulated to originate in Paleo-European languages (hence the name "Lakelandic" which is inspired by [read: lifted from] the Saami linguist Ante Aikio) to create a language (with a priori vocabulary) used to portray fictional history for a northern part of an Earth-like planet.
Early vocabulary of Proto-Lakelandic reflects this goal to a degree, but eventually things got more complex, ideas got abandoned and new ones were adopted (most notably, perhaps, Chukotko-Kamchatkan elements). Now I have probably too many language families for a single person to manage, with elements inspired by languages as diverse as Navajo and Kartvelian languages, but still remembering the original idea of predominantly a priori vocabulary. And now I realize this has little to do with Proto-Lakelandic in particular, but oh well.
