About Tamerin

た み り だ ね

Tamerin is a language spoken in the mountainous regions in North-West of  Retenia.
For years, this language has been a puzzle for historians. Actually, the vocabulary of this language seems to be cognate with Berber and other Afro-asiatic languages but the syntax and other thing are different... and there are also loanwords from Indo-Europeans languages ( Dunari,  Southern Retenic) but also words that seems to be related with a Pre Indo-European substratum found in South-Western Europe (like in Standard Retenian)

Nowadays, studies show that Tamerin people are related with Berbers and seems to be descendant from the Crenellated ceramic bowl culture that dominated the South of Retenia during the neolitic between the 4th and 2nd millenium BC before being displaced by the migration of Proto-Retenians from the Iberic peninsula. So, the ancestors of Tamerin moved to the hills between the Central Plain and the Western mountains where they were displaced by Retenians that migrated from the central plain (Dunaris), and then they moved again to the mountains in North-West where their descendants still live today.

The high difference between Tamerin and Berbers language in North Africa is because they are separed since at least 5000 years. Tamerinic branch diverged since the Proto-Berber I stade.

Tamerin is written with the Retenian syllabary, but the pronounciation of the letters is not exactly the same that in Standard Retenian and less letters are used (Only Ca, Ci and Cu letters are used + Ce letters for the final letter of CvC consonant and the devowelizer is not mandatory, so "iksinda" could be written いけしねだ or いけエしねエだ)
