About Tukali
Tukali (Tibetan: "ཏུཀལི", IPA: [t̪u.ka.li])is a language that descended from Old Tukali. The language used to serve as a liturgical language for Buddhists and Tukali folk religion, however through loanwords from Sinitic languages as well as French, it has become a modern language not only used in formal contexts, but also in casual situations.
Tukali employs two scripts for written communication. The primary script for all forms of text, whether digital or printed—such as signs, newspapers, articles, and journals—is the Tibetan script. Handwritten Tukali also employs the Tibetan script, although it exhibits slight variations in writing style. The Latin script is informally utilized in Tukali albeit there is no standardized system for representing the language in Romanized form; a single sound can correspond to multiple graphemes, and vice versa. This informal usage is notably influenced by the extensive adoption of English and French orthographic conventions in its Romanization system.
