About Telyiches
Telyiches is a language descending from Tepeza that is spoken on the southern peninsula, where the Akalix language never truly gained dominance (similar to the Lintang, it is considered part of the Céakali but not the Céakalix). It is in some ways the most conservative of Tepeza's descendants (being the only one to maintain the three-way contrast of aspirated, plain, and voiced stops) and in others the most innovative (having drastically reduced much of the morphology).
The other languages spoken on the southern peninsula include Dekeez (another descendant of Tepeza), Kailśen (a language isolate), and the small Yopptekal family. Thes languages form a sprachbund, with common features including verb-initial word orders, a lack of the phoneme /m/, and initial clusters which are otherwise rare in the west (particularly /dv/ and /kv/).
