About Tomerian
Tomerian is an agglutinative language with OSV word order, 38 grammatical cases (mostly corresponding to adpositions), a large phonetic inventory.
In Tomerian, adjectives are either affixed to the noun they modify, or are treated as a genitive noun, though the latter is usually reserved for proper nouns. There are no true, grammatically correct adjective phrases in Tomerian, but are expressed with nouns:
Älmat níru kor.
sadness.ACCAccusative (case)
TRANS direct object; patient 1SFirst person singular (person)
speaker, signer, etc.; I.NOMNominative (case)
TRANS subject, INTR argument.MMasculine gender (gender)
masculine or male have.1SFirst person singular (person)
speaker, signer, etc.; I.PRESPresent tense (tense)
current
"I have sadness."/"I am sad."
Pronouns and verb conjugation are marked in the 1-4th persons. Pronoun roots have masculine and feminine suffixes -ru and -na added to any of them when applicable.
Noun cases and verb moods are marked by largely regular suffixes. Time and space are distinguished in cases. For example:
cŭinchë "at [a] place"
hénze "at night"
benthánmod "before [the] king"
töshmatic "ere dawn"
Among the cases, there is a distinction between the instrumental, comitative, and ornative cases. I will demonstrate this with sentences about a crazy guy and his knife.
Oru doshtaq silakün. "He left equipped with [a] knife." (Ornative)
Ont oru a̋vaq silatäy "He skinned it with [the] knife." (Instrumental)
Oru chelaq silada. "He talked with [the] knife." (Comitative)
I am currently in the process of creating consistency after a major retcon, as I have to rebuild my vocabulary, as I lost some 4000 words a year ago, and I'm trying to make the language look cleaner. (Changing sz's to sh's, and so on).
