About Velmarin
About 1800 years ago, a Sino-Roman expedition led to the joint colonization of a small volcanic archipelago in the South China Sea. Isolated from the rest of the Romantic world, and with heaps of influence from the Sinosphere (and a healthy dose of linguistic purism), the Velmarin language has since developed into a rather unique Latinate language (there is some debate as to whether the category “Romance” even applies) that trends both phonologically conservative and grammatically innovative.
