From Proto-Finnic *raato, borrowed from Proto-Norse *brāđō, from Proto-Germanic *brēdô
Notes
Used to refer to severely decomposed corpses of both humans and animals bigger than a house cat. For fresh animal corpse see hoašk, for the corpse of a small animal see ruho and for a general term for human corpses see ruumiž.
