The suppletive subjunctive/imperative forms "gyer", "gyerınk" and "gyertäk" have been in the language since the early Hungarian era (as "gyere", "gyerünk" and "gyertek") and still maintain their place as formal alternatives to the analogized forms. "Gyernäk" is a relatively new formation, created by analogy with the older "gyertäk".
