Etymology
From an earlier "dennëpccav" (parsed as "overhorizon", not "over horizon"), metathesed as "decëpnav" before going through de- apheresis. The methathesis is explained by "-cëpnav" potentially parsed as "tooth-ADVZ", probably related to the last sunrays during a sunset. This theory is backed by the fact that the metathesis seems to have spread from coastal regions.
