[ʒəqwɔɾ]*
death
(state of being dead)
 Old Shikathi
Etymology
Contains the proto-shikathi root "or" = flame/fire.
zh' prefix represents a Proto-Shikathi animacy marker.
Notes
The ancients considered Zh'khuor one of the gods of the underworld. The name became synonymous with death itself.

The original meaning of the name was lost during the transition from Proto-Shikathi to Old-Shikathi however Zh'khuor was one of the gods responsible for carrying spirits to their next destination. And so the meaning may suggest "soul carrier".

This word is also related to the Proto-Shikathi expression zh'khuor'adhuu. It is believed that this word gave rise to modern Shikathi "shorāsh" = spirit/essence.
