Words can have three grammatical genders: masculine, feminine and neutral. Any root can be either, although neutral radicals are restricted to places, some materials and loanwords.
Most neutral nouns are abstract concepts. Some can stand alone as neutral, but most have two holistic derivatives (one in each gender).
