[edit] [top]Word Order

Ithril is SOV with adjectives and adverbs coming before the nouns and verbs. All nouns have to have an article before them which is different based on class and count (nouns themselves don't show plurality)

The only exceptions are with the word 'ez' (is) which comes before adjective or nouns...

la ez ogjomere (I am different)

... and commands, which have the verbs before the object

tjowanyazil nye lanyemal (give the money)

[edit] [top]Descriptors

As mentioned before, adjectives and adverbs come before what they are describing. There is no difference between adjective and adverbs but the beginning changes based on the class of noun or verb...

nye mavalase mishem (the safe father)

tyavalase enyenefo (sail safely)

... and no prefix is added when describing pronouns.

[edit] [top]Tenses

There are 5 tenses in Ithril: present simple, past simple, past continuous, future simple and indefinite.

Present is the normal tense each verb is in.

Past tense is made by adding -s:
nyetyafo -> nyetyafos (rise -> rose)

Past Continuous is made by adding -sho:
bja valtjon nyetyafosho bzesh madz... (the Sun was rising when it...)

Future is made by adding -vi
nyetyafo -> nyetyafovi (rise -> will rise)

Indefinite is used when something has and will always happen (and commands), it is made with -zil
bja valtjon nyetyafozil (the Sun rises)

[edit] [top]Stress

Ithril is a stressless language, by that I mean that the pronunciation of a word is not based on which syllable is stressed and any syllable can be stressed.

So "veresje" can be pronounced "ˈβe.re.sje", "βeˈre.sje" or "βe.reˈsje" and there is no difference in meaning or any mispronunciations.
