This public article was written by [Deactivated User], and last updated on 11 Aug 2018, 02:45.

[comments] There are five auxiliary verbs in  Rhanakya, each of which marks a different feature. When multiple of these features apply, they appear in a particular order. Those at the beginning come first. The one at the very beginning is finite; all others are non-finite, with their morphology determined by the one before them.

The auxiliary hierarchy:

lĵáśe
lyáśe
marks negation

'úva
cúva
marks the future tense

mewa
mewa
marks interrogatives

ne
ne
marks the perfect aspect

sĵáþe
syáþe
marks the imperfect aspect

véða
véða
marks the progressive aspect
