About Bahasa Lozo
Bahasa Lozo is a minority language spoken in Daj Hamad by around 48,000 inhabitants. Bahasa Lozo is a Malayo-Polynesian based language, which means it’s mutually telligible with Indonesian and Malay or other Austronesian languages.
Bahasa Lozo had been developing since 17th Century when the Middle Malay was split into different dialects in Borneo. One of the tribes, Lozo, sailed out to the ocean for a better life, and came to Quralzag in 1745. The language amongst them were using vernacular teaching method to preserve and teach children. The first Latin system alphabet set was brought by an English missionary, Fordlith Howbent to revolutionise the language. The Lozo were managed to cooperate with the Quralzagian government to hold status of using the minority language, Ibn Hadi, a linguist in the 20th century was publishing poets and publications to widespread the language
