About Proto-Iowiyan
Proto-Iowiyan is the farthest trace backwards of the Iowiyan family, which eventually branched off from many dialects to form the 9 languages spoken by the different peoples of the Iowiya island. The name Iowiya is not adapted from the language, rather generated as a placeholder name at first for the language but eventually stuck.
