So you want to learn Kyuren? Well, I can't say I disapprove of your choice. It will prove very useful in your next trip to Southwestern Armenia. I will warn you though, as with most languages, it's not going to be a walk in the park to learn. Here we go, or as you say in Kyuren, Տե՜ջմօր։
In this section you will cover:
- Basic pronunciation
- Greetings (i.e. "hello", "goodbye")
- Politeness (i.e. "please", "thank you")
- Useful phrases (i.e. "do you speak English?", "can you speak more slowly?")
- Basic vocabulary (i.e. "yes", "no")
Kyuren is written in the Armenian alphabet. This will take a bit of time to memorize, but it is the easiest part of the language (which is surprising to some). It is however, phonetic, meaning that words are spelled as they are pronounced (with some exceptions). Armenian has capital and lower case letters, as well as some unique punctuation. Below are all the letters with IPA and the closest approximation in American English, along with the punctuation.
