Among the Niflikin, the concept of having a child when the body is an adult in their system is relatively foreign, but for those who do have them there are accommodations. When a child headmate fronts they may get time off from their work if they are employed or allowed to play with other children. This is seen as normal, but as a personal quirk of the system in question.

Similarly, protectors in the classical sense are also rare. While it's common that one of the two headmates be more headstrong, they aren't necessarily a protector in that they protect the other headmate from triggers or dangerous situations. Since every Niflikin is born plural, there isn't a need for more than casual amounts of protecting.

Other common dynamics within systems include having someone who is emotionally sensitive contrasted by someone who is numb or stubborn about it, someone who is cheerful and extroverted contrasted by someone who is more drawn back and sullen. Having some type of contrast between the two is what these people are used to, because it makes it easy to see who is fronting and makes for a varied lifestyle, which they value. When a larger system blurs these lines others tend to get confused and worried.
