Like adjectives/stative verbs, in Wa Ñi adpositions can be divided into 'noun-like' adpositions and 'verb-like' locational verbs. The noun-like adpositions are mostly transparently derived from body part nouns or verb + body part expressions. The locational verbs are usually underived.

Noun-like adpositions:

cex 'hand': 'on the end of'
dùu 'head': 'on top of, above'
dyok 'chest': 'in front of'
ñè 'back': 'away from' (at least historically), 'behind'
rùti 'foot': 'below, under'

dal 'side': 'next to'
do 'stomach': 'inside, in'
dyo 'neck': 'through'
lep 'heart': 'enclosed by, within (a closed space)'
na 'manner': 'with'
tirdaley 'ascend side': 'along'
ùmu 'breast': 'touching'
xu 'at, on'

Locational verbs:

cux 'exit', 'come out of, out of'
dax 'enter, into'
deľ 'arrive, to'
pak 'leave, from'
xòdiŋ 'go out of'

ey 'go'
hyo 'descend, down to'
ľàa 'come'
nax 'be far'
tir 'ascend, up to'
xix 'be near'

ořù 'cover'
řu 'go around, be around, around'
pey 'pass, past'
