Welcome to lesson 1 of Thoryhlian. This is a basic guide to how to write sentances in the language.

1: Subject–verb–object word order
Generally, Thoryhlian is written in SOV, though there is sometimes VSO depending on the context of what it is written on, an item with way bigger height to width generally use more VSO, and so rarely used. This VSO is thought to have originated from ancient thoryhlian and religious texts (which make them harder to translate).

2: Whats the deal with ~?
In Thoryhlian, it is common to see '~' in writing. Though it makes no sound, it has a use. It is used to combine words together that Thoryhlian doesn't have a single word concept of or speaker doesn't know the actual word. This has thought to been made as an easy way of bypassing weird words to be translated from by medieval scholars that continues to today. When making these, they follow the SOV/VSO system depending on the same conditions as said in 1.

3: ; , ' .
Punctuation marks. Don't you love them? *cough.* There is no such thing as 'and' in Thoryhlian, but for lists they just use the humble ,. Semi :'s are used only in VSO writings for the ,. Apostriphies are used as another scholarly bypass as used for 'eh this is probably correct try and factcheck please.'

4: Adjectives
Noun first.

5: Your first sentance

Now, take this rules and make a sentace. I will give you some words, try it.
ei - The (you have 2 to use)
weline - cat as the teacher
kawesa - dog as the student
deqere - teach
eiqere - science
bron - brown
ut - on

below is what you should've got.
Ei weline eiqere deqere on ei kawesa bron

If your confused why the on is there, let me explain.

6: Did i tell you about the on/to? (i didn't)
In Thoryhlian, there was no need to develope a difference between on and to due to how the ancient language didn't have a different word for them and scholars of the language.

Conclusion
Its a weird language with weird ways of making sentances. Vy!
