During the Earth's 4th century, the continent called Grantuos was the most populous on Idra. The inhabitants were a bunch of warring tribes who spoke hundreds of dialects of Grantusian. Although these peoples shared common ancestors, there was nothing but animosity between them.
A man named Pante from a wealthy tribe, Zed-Konos, wanted to unite these peoples. Unlike others who wanted unity through conquering and enslavement of others, Pante traveled across Grantuos and spoke of things like democracy, equality, and a universal language. He was the first linguist, and by figuring out what was most common among Grantusian dialects, and created "Darsehn ko Kidge", which we known today as Original Zelconian.
The name Darsehn ko Kidge means "the Final Language". Pante's idea was to make a language and a culture that appealed to all and did not change. That way, everyone is Grantuos now and forever would be able to understand each other and cooperate. Imagine if you could read things written 10,000 years ago, by someone on the other side of the world! This was Pante's dream.
You might have begun to imagine Pante as a kind of saint, which his followers viewed him as and some people do to this day. But Pante was a very brash person. He did not simply suggest his ideas to people in a public forum, or hand out pamphlets in the market square. He went door to door yelling at people that they were stupid for not following him and his vision of a better world.
He did not attract many followers. In fact, he and his followers were eventually exiled from Grantuos. They did not deserve the death penalty - they never hurt or stole. But they were just too annoying to stay. So they were loaded on a boat with 3 week's supplies and sent off into the most dangerous, stormy part of the ocean.
3 months later, Pante and his followers found a landmass unknown to Grantuos and started a new society according to their principles. Change is inherent to a language, though, so the modern Zelconian (and its dialects) that you hear spoken today are not exactly like the original language that Pante invented.
