Menu 1. Interrogative degrees

When possible, interrogations are conveyed by a rising intonation only, even some WH- kind ones. However, several degrees of interrogations can be used through other means.

Different stress paterns, indicated in color, are involved depending on the interrogative degree. They may overrule the expected tonal pattern.

  • in- + voicing mutation + final stress: doubtful interrogation,
