[comments]  Proto-Quirem employs partial reduplication. The section reduplicated is the onset and nucleus of the first syllable of the root, which is prefixed. It occurs with l-infixed lemmas and converts them from transitive-causative to reflexive-translative.

Ex.

Root: qïr bright; white
L-infixation: qlïr brighten (something); illuminate
Reduplicated form: qïqlïr brighten (oneself); become bright; become illuminated

Proto-Quirem uses ablaut to form adverbs from adjectives that were formed by affixation. As there are several different adjective markers, the ablaut vowel is dependent on the vowel in the adjective marker. (Root adjectives do not employ ablaut; instead they simply use the suffix .)

-teg: Changes to -tig
-il: Changes to -ül
-hdan: Changes to -hden
-kël: Changes to -kal
