Tekalese counting operates off of a system of multiplication and exponents, with each digit of a number being based around the number 10.

The numbers 1-10 in Tekalese are spoken as follows:
0: ku
1: ji
2: wo
3: gu
4: tsa
5: bi
6: mo
7: cu
8: ho
9: lu
10: fu

The word for any digit in Tekalese is constructed as follows: y(10)x, with y being the number of the digit present and x notating which digit y is applied to as an exponent over 10. When written, each digit is separated by an apostrophe, although this notation holds no phonemic significance.

For example: The number 8,479 would be spoken as hofugu'tsafuwo'cufu'lu
