Sentence order in Ifei follows a SOV pattern maintaining an initial position within their group for those who are the direct recipient or actor in the sentence.

Within the sentence, the predicate contains to objects; however, the direct object is given priority and positioned first.

With the use of adjectival copular phrases, the backbone of the SOV order is maintained but the distinction may not be as clear.

To negate any statement whether tackling a verb, an adjective, an adverb or even a noun, the same particle is used. To distinguish what it is referring to, it is placed right after the word being negated.

Interrogative markers are added to the beginning of the verb itself with a dash. They may also be added to the beginning of a copular adjective.
