About Balkha
Balkhashyk or Balkha is a Turkic-lang with aspects similar to Kazakh, Common Turkic languages, and influence from the Northern Siberian Turkic languages such as Yakut (Sakha).
Origins
This language is spoken by a ethnic group that migrated from Western Siberia to the plains of Eastern Kazakhstan, settling along lake Balkhash. There the language developed in relative isolation until outside influence eventually arrived from Kazakh-speaking peoples, affecting the language greatly. The primary influence came in the form of loan words from Kazakh, however many traditional words are preserved from Sakha.
