About Baldeziwurleki
I recently read "The Faery Handbag" by Kelly Link. The story is about a handbag made of dog skin that contains a group of Baldeziwurleki speaking people.
I found the fictional language mentioned interesting. The story only offers a few words to go off of:
Baldeziwurleki - Name of the language
Baldeziwurlekistanians - People who live in the faery handbag
Baldeziwurlekistan - Country where the language is spoken
Zofia - Proper Name, Grandmother of narrator and native speaker of Baldeziwurleki.
orzipanikanikcz - “bag of skin where the world lives,”
kirif - “happy news”
bolekirifisz - “the happy result of a combination of diligent effort and patience.”
The language appears to be agglutinative, at least derivationally for nouns. Pronunciation can only be guessed at. I'm assuming the cz in orzipanikanikcz is pronounced /t͡ʃ /as in the English word Czech and sz in bolekirifisz would probably be pronounced /ʃ/.
I'm thinking the word Baldeziwurlekistanians maybe an exonym created by Baldeziwurlekistan and the English derivational morpheme "ian" and pluralizing "s".
From here I think I can develop a language.
