About Carcosan
Language spoken in the ancient city of Carcosa. Isolating, with grammar inspired by Vietnamese and Classical Chinese. Logographic writing system inspired by Caryll Runes from Bloodborne. Traditionally written in alternating clockwise and anti-clockwise spirals, although this is mostly reserved for religious and monumental purposes. For all other purposes, writing direction is down to personal preference.
All nouns are inherently plural, and you add the particle pvo 'one' to specify a single item. In speech, this has been reduced nearly universally to the prefix pv-. Only determiners (with the exception of the possessive determiners) precede the head noun. Everything else follows the head noun.
Although words in the dictionary are categorised as verbs, adjectives, nouns etc., Carcosan linguists have historically only used two categories: mel kvac 'full words' and mexl kvac 'empty words'.
