About Frellish
Spoken by the frelliks, a race of small, friendly, fuzzy creatures who reside in unused spaces. Inspired by Wicked's Oz-isms (definish, confusifying), the names of various Borrowers (Eggletina), old-fashioned English words (splendiferous), and some of the words used in Fraggle Rock (preachification) and the Dark Crystal (insert Kira/Podling gibberish here). The goal is to make a language that sounds familiar to English speakers as far as words go, but has just enough of a difference to make it stand on its own. Kind of a child's speech kind of thing, where a kid knows the rules of a language just enough to communicate but not perfectly.
I now know a little bit more about frelliks, and am working on some basic conculture stuff.
Orthography is going to be the biggest problem for now, because I want it to look nice. In the meantime, I'll be listing the "original" form of the word as its main dictionary entry, with anglicized frelliktokken in the alternate word part. From what I have so far, the anglicized version looks a lot prettier and is more intuitive. But I don't really want to deal with difficult PhoMo, so I'm being lazy.
