About Haleth Welcome to Haleth! Ladhae! [ˈlä.ɛ]

Presentation
Haleth (autonym: hàliadh) is my most recent attempt at a conlang, and one I have suprisingly not given up yet. It is mostly inspired by Goidelic languages (Irish and Scottish Gaelic), although it is an a priori conlang. I intend to make it sound different, yet familiar enough to speakers of European languages (my own influencies being English, French and German). Though, no vocabulary is derived from existing languages and grammar is meant to be exotic enough, so while it could sound familiar, it remains quite foreign in all other aspects.

In-universe history
Haleth is a North Halethic language, spoken by clans of hunter-gatherers and pastors in northwestern Ledic (Westernmost part of this world's supercontinent). It stands as one of the last remaining, once widespread Halethic languages, along with its (unnamed) sister language.
This ancient language finds its origins in the great forests of the region. Along its development, Haleth has diversified into a gallery of dialects, spreading from the eastern mountains, on hills and through meadows, as far west as the sea. Despite hundreds of years, most of these dialects remain interintelligible.

Features include:
- broad (plain) and slender (palatalised) distinction in phonology;
- (new) active-stative (split-S) morphosyntactic alignment;
- complex noun inflection patterns (wip);
- complex conjugation (wip);
- a nightmarish Irish-like "traditionnal" orthography (made up for with a "simplified" one, and not counting a possible conscript). an improved romanisation.

Please note that all of the above could change anytime soon, nothing is definitive.
