About Camani
Sis abedintin! - Welcome!
Camani is a language spoken by the Caman people. Over time, mostly due to the trading and colonial ventures of the Caman, it became spoken over wide swaths of the world, and has high importance as a language of commerce, diplomacy, literature, and science. It features a default SVO word order (but oftentimes this is flexible) and is fusional in nature. The language has its own writing system, and this is the reason for the strange digraphs I have used in my words (tt for θ, ss for ʃ, gg for d͡ʒ, cc for t͡ʃ), as the writing system uses these digraphs to represent these sounds.
This language was created to somewhat resemble a Mediterranean romance language (hence t͡ʃ and d͡ʒ and the other characteristically romance sounds), however I have based very little vocabulary off of it (as the romance languages never arose in my conworld), and I have also included sounds that romance languages tend not to have, such as θ and ʎ.
