About Kiantan
This artlang is made for my fantasy world - Kaiedale.
Kiantateilan is the primary language spoken in Liyakianta Kaishiminia (Liyakianta Kingdom) by the Kianta - a human-like race. It has three dialects: Neraya (Southern - official, for formal uses, most broadly spoken), Shadel (Northern), and Reaytanvin (Arctic).
In the Linnian continent of Kaiedale, Kiantateilan is the most widely spoken language, making it the primary language for communication in Linnian.
Overview
Morphosyntactic alignment: Ergative - Absolutive.
Although the primary word order is SVO, identifying sentence subjects and objects in Kiantateilan is not dependent on linear positioning but is concretely marked by grammatical cases. Therefore, in some specific situations, the word order might not be SVO (relative clause, passive, etc.).
Adjectives can, in specific grammatical constructions, take on a function similar to verbs. For instance, Kiantateilan adjectives can "conjugate" in agreement with tenses, without using verbs (in sentences).
Pronouns in Kiantateilan are a full mess, with multiple use cases, honorifics, etc.
