About Karínian
**currently undergoing a bit of a grammar overhaul; some info may not be updated!**
Karínian is the primary language of the kingdom of Karínia, and can be divided into two main variants - the standard northern dialect, and the nonstandard southern dialect. The geographical and social isolation of Néa's Bow has resulted in another dialect known as Néan, which has lost much of its mutual intelligibility with the mainland varieties.
Phonology is largely inspired by Greek with a dash of Japanese. Grammar is still in progress and some parts may be subject to change.
Some features:
- SVO
- fusional
- prodrop
- 3 marked tenses: present, past, future
- no gender excepting pronouns
- stress marked by diacritic

[edit] [view] Neanéxou (Néan)Néan is a dialect of Karínian spoken in the distant island territory known as Néa's Bow, settled long ago by Karínian pilgrims after a catastrophic religious schism. The isle is thought to be the final resting place of the betrayer god Evenéa, and is widely believed to be cursed. Its geographical and social isolation have resulted in a dialect near mutually unintelligible with the mainland varieties.
