About Laguruese
Laguruese form its own branch of the Western-Romance language family, however due to centuries of influence the language (or rather dialect continuum) has undergone some common sound, lexis and semantic changes with other Italo-romance, Insular-romance and Gallic-romance languages. Although syntactically, Laguruese is quite conservative; preserving older verb conjugations, the neuter gender and other such details. Moreover, as a result of Germanic and Semitic influences; Laguruese features a variety of loanwords such as "cruccu" meaning 'dishware' from Proto-Germanic.
