[view] Са̄ка (Saka)The Saka or Sokka dialect is spoken in rural parts of the far southwestern region of Loulan. It is notable for its rounding of /ɑ/ to /ɒ/ (with many speakers further merging standard /ɑ/, /ɔ/, and /o/ to /ɔ/) and for its notably extended inventory of retroflex consonants, partially due to influence from both historical Eastern Iranian languages spoken in southwestern Loulan, and from modern Pashto, Pamiri, and Indic languages.
