About Mallanic
Mallanic (Mallanic: Mallánohes; Íde mallánohe, Greek: Μαλλανικα, Turkish: Mallança) is a Hurro-Urartian language spoken in the north of Cyprus. The language has its origins in the Hurrian of the Mitanni Empire, following the exodus of Hurrian speakers to Cyprus following the fall of the Mitanni Empire to the Assyrians.
Mallanic is a highly agglutinative language, with strong influence from Sanskrit, Greek, Old French, Turkish, and more recently, English. Following the conversion of the Mallanians to Islam in the Ottoman period, Arabic and Persian also show minor influence in the vocabulary.
