About New Imperial Carthaginian
This is the form of Carthaginian spoken in about 600 years after the death of Hannibal (415 or so AD), at the height of Carthaginian power if Hannibal had taken Rome. Linguistically, it is a mixed language with a Latin-based vocabulary made to conform to the triliteral system of roots used in Punic, with a Punic grammar and an irregular syntax. It has many loanwords, particularly synonyms, from alternate Carthaginian territories. It was used for many years as the administrative language of Roman Italy, and was made the official language of all inter-provincial business in the Provincial Reforms.
