About Sćaik
Sćaik is a language spoken by a culture that inhabits the interior of the northern continent which consists of semi desert in the south, steppe in the west and sparse woodland in the east and north. This people follows a religion by which it believes that it is the master race, and more specifically, their language is the only "true" and original language. Throughout the ages and their area, relations with other "inferior" cultures around them have varied from jingoistic to accepting but have rarely become close. Due to these beliefs, tradition and especially language have been conserved as much as possible over time to not follow the path of the "lesser" peoples and deviate from the true culture. Therefore, the language has had less changes than would be expected over time and thus it remains more logical and with little exceptions compared to other languages. Sćaik's writing system is comparable to standard musical notation in that the characters are written in vertical relation on a single central stave, determining the vowel after the consonant. This can be thought of as an abugida. The phonetic inventory of Sćaik is very rich in fricatives, affricates and alveolar consonants. It has a labiodental nasal, which has shifted to the bilabial "m" in most related languages. There are four written vowels: a, o, y (pronounced ɘ̟ like in Polish) and i, although the mid central vowel ə is used to replace o and y in some contexts. Diphthongs can only be made with i as the final vowel, and are denoted using an extra stroke above or below the consonant before the diphthong. Notably, proper words cannot begin or end in a vowel.
