About Scathian
Scathian is a Romance language with major influences from Old Norse and most modern Nordic languages, along with some French and other Oïl languages for good measure.
This language contains the following features:
• A strictly SVO word order (with few exceptions).
• Only one marked case, the genitive.
• Nouns which decline by definiteness, gender (masculine or feminine only) and number.
• Two forms of adjectives: predicatives which decline like nouns but with the additional dimension of degree, and attributives which only decline by degree.
• Determiners that decline only by gender and genitive case.
• Verbs which conjugate by tense, number, mood, and aspect, but NOT person (unless the imperative mood gets involved).
• Pronouns that decline by gender, number, and person, with additional neuter and non-binary genders exclusive to personal pronouns.
• A number system inspired by French and Danish.
