About Solgan A little experiment playing with Han characters and a modified hangeul. This is an agglutinative language. It's supposed to be spoken by an ethnic group around the North Korean-Chinese border. The language is related to neither.

It is an ergative-absolutive language that favors suffixes, usually written in the aforementioned modified hangeul (called drolcheyda/音文, meaning "sound-script"). Drolcheyda corresponded to Hangeul a lot more for Old Solgan than it does now, due to sound changes. Any Solgan word can be written in drolcheyda. As a whole, the writing system is usually written up-to-down, right-to-left. This is even the case in print and most electronic media.

I've been wanting to do an E-B language, but never really knew how. I think I have it now, but I may still get something wrong with this system. With that little disclaimer out of the way, the word order is Agent-Patient-Verb in transitive sentences, and Argument-Verb in intransitive sentences. The verb ending changes in relation to the argument/patient, tense, and mood.

Below is a sample of Solgan writing, using the translation for the Lord's Prayer.

I'm considering giving the adjectival/genitive marker "은" its own ideograph, given how common it is. Other than that, I'm quite happy with how the writing system has turned out thus far.
