About Song Wan The purpose of Sola Wana is simply to experiment and have fun with a possible AuxLang for East Asian languages. Particularly Chinese and Malay language(s). The vocab is strongly derived from Mandarin, Min-Nan, and Middle Chinese. The aim is for the grammar to be easy to use by both Chinese and Malay speakers. Phonologically, the two languages are not very similar, especially in terms of their rhymes, so some liberties were taken to ensure what is, I hope, the middle path between the two. For example, in Standard Mandarin, there are a set number of rhymes (see rhyme tables). Given that these rhymes are difficult for some speakers of other east Asian languages to reproduce, the conceit was to give the ease of pronunciation with regards to other languages and give the ease of syntax and word familiarity more towards Chinese speakers. That means that Chinese languages speakers may have to learn some new pronunciation, but the majority of the vocab will be familiar. Whereas non-Chinese speakers require more vocabulary but easier pronunciation. This is, at least, my hope.
The overall aim I have is to keep a middle ground between Chinese and Malay grammar and Phonology that will generate a language that hopefully will be easy for a wide variety of people.
This work is PURELY for fun, and fun I've certainly had whilst creating it. ;)
